Billy Corgan plans to go way back in time for his next release. The Smashing Pumpkins frontman says he intends to put out the first part of a multi-volume collection of home demos he made between 1985 and 1990.
Corgan says there are more than 800 titles to choose from, but warns fans the quality of these so-called "works" is "all over the place." He admits that at 18-years-old, his "inadequacies as a sound engineer" and his influences "show a little too hard in places."
The collection doesn't have an exact release date at this point, and Corgan says it will probably be at least two or three months before anything comes out because of the amount of material he needs to go through.
Corgan is also prepping a pair of new Smashing Pumpkins albums. He hopes to have the first, Monuments to an Elegy, out in December.
